About Macaulay Heritage Park

Macaulay Heritage Park is a beautifully preserved historic site located in the heart of Picton, Prince Edward County. The park is home to several heritage landmarks, including Macaulay House (built in 1830), the former Church of St. Mary Magdalene, the old parish cemetery, the Carriage House, and serene Heritage Gardens. This charming park setting offers visitors a chance to explore 19th-century architecture and picturesque grounds perfect for both educational visits and intimate events. The site also features "A Path Forward," a powerful, permanent exhibit housed in the church and co-curated by Tsi Tyonnheht Onkwawen:na and the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund. This exhibit focuses on Truth and Reconciliation and invites visitors to reflect on the shared Indigenous and non-Indigenous history of the region. Presented in English, French, and Mohawk, it blends contemporary art with historical narrative, fostering awareness and dialogue. Macaulay Heritage Park is a unique venue for private rentals, weddings, community events, and cultural programs in a tranquil, story-rich environment.
